Two patterns are worth pulling out. Two-Step is the cheapest route at every account size — there is no size at which paying more buys you a cheaper evaluation. And the gap widens as the account grows: $10 at $5,000, $370 at $100,000. The bigger the funded account you are aiming at, the more the route choice costs you.
Refundable deposit or non-refundable fee: what each crypto prop firm charge is
The number you pay is not the same kind of charge on every route, and this matters more than the headline gap.
- One-Step and Two-Step: a refundable Challenge Deposit. HyroTrader returns it with your first payout. Pass, trade profitably, withdraw, and the evaluation has cost you nothing.
- Zero-Step: a non-refundable fee. The firm’s own rules table records the deposit row for the funded phase as “No refund”. Once you activate, that money is spent whatever happens next.
A $100,000 Two-Step at $579 that you pass is eventually free. A $100,000 Zero-Step at $949 is $949 gone in every outcome, pass or fail. Comparing them as “$579 against $949” understates the difference considerably.
There is one condition on the refund worth stating plainly: it arrives with your first payout, not at the moment you pass. A funded account that never produces $100 of post-split profit never triggers the refund. The payout page covers how that works.
Drawdown and profit target per route
Price is only half the trade. This is the other half:
| Feature | Zero-Step | One-Step | Two-Step |
|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum evaluation period | 1 day | 5 days | 5 + 5 days |
| Phases | 1 | 1 | 2 |
| Profit target | 10% | 10% | 10% + 5% |
| Maximum loss | 5% | 6% | 10% |
| Daily loss | 3% | 4% | 5% |
| Maximum funded account | $100,000 | $200,000 | $200,000 |
| Profit split ceiling | 80% | 90% | 90% |
Zero-Step can be finished in a day. It also carries the tightest drawdown on the board, so the route built for speed gives the least room to be wrong — 3% daily on a $25,000 account is $750, and in crypto markets a single adverse session can take that. The full comparison sets out the trade-off properly.
Drawdown rules in dollars, by funded account size
Percentages are easy to skim past. The same rules in money, calculated from HyroTrader’s published percentages against each account size it sells:
| Account size | Two-Step max loss (10%) | One-Step max loss (6%) | Zero-Step max loss (5%) | Zero-Step daily (3%) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $5,000 | $500 | $300 | $250 | $150 |
| $10,000 | $1,000 | $600 | $500 | $300 |
| $25,000 | $2,500 | $1,500 | $1,250 | $750 |
| $50,000 | $5,000 | $3,000 | $2,500 | $1,500 |
| $100,000 | $10,000 | $6,000 | $5,000 | $3,000 |
| $200,000 | $20,000 | $12,000 | not offered | not offered |
Arithmetic applied to the firm’s own published drawdown rules, 7 October 2026.
Read the $25,000 row: Two-Step gives $2,500 of total room, Zero-Step $1,250, and Zero-Step’s daily drawdown limit of $750 can be reached in one session on a leveraged crypto position. The cheaper route is also the one that lets a trade go against you twice as far — and the profit target is 10% on both.
Scaling, account sizes and what the fee does not include
HyroTrader sells six account sizes from $5,000 to $200,000, though Zero-Step stops at $100,000. Scaling beyond the purchased size is not described as an automatic ladder anywhere on the firm’s public pages. What the firm does describe is the profit split rising from 80% toward 90% for consistent traders on One-Step and Two-Step — discretionary, with no published thresholds, and not available on Zero-Step at all.
A trader planning to compound into larger capital should therefore budget for buying the larger account rather than expecting to be scaled into it. The pricing makes that less painful than it sounds: a $200,000 Two-Step is $969, just $20 more than a $100,000 Zero-Step at $949 — twice the funded capital, double the drawdown allowance, a refundable deposit instead of a sunk fee, and a profit split that can reach 90%. It is the clearest illustration on the board of how much of Zero-Step’s price is speed rather than capital.
What the challenge charge does not include: there is no monthly subscription, no platform fee, no data fee and no withdrawal fee mentioned anywhere on the firm’s public pages. One payment per challenge, refundable on two of three routes.
Bybit, the Hyro trading platform, and what the price includes
The fee covers the whole trading environment, and a crypto trader gets the same one on every route. You can connect your own Bybit demo account by API and trade 700+ USDT perpetual pairs at up to 100x, connect a BloFin demo account for 80+ USDT-M futures pairs at up to 150x on BTC and ETH, or use Hyro, the firm’s own trading platform, which needs no exchange account at all and runs on live Bybit market data with official TradingView charts. The Tealstreet and Tiger.com terminals are available too, with HyroTrader generating the API keys.
No platform costs extra, and none is restricted to the more expensive routes. For a crypto prop trading firm this is unusually open — most hand you a single proprietary terminal — and it means the price difference between routes buys nothing in the way of tools.
What a HyroTrader crypto prop firm charge actually buys
A price means nothing without the package behind it. At $579, a $100,000 Two-Step buys:
- An unlimited trading period. No 30-day evaluation window, which is standard at many prop firms. Only the inactivity rule applies.
- No stop-loss requirement. Your risk management, your rules, inside the two limits.
- A 10% maximum loss — wide for a crypto prop firm.
- An 80% profit split, with 90% reachable.
- Payouts in USDT or USDC within 24 hours, with no fees.
- 700+ crypto pairs, on your own Bybit demo account if you want it, with leverage up to 100x.
Set against a $949 Zero-Step that caps the funded account at $100,000, keeps the split at 80% forever and refunds nothing, the cheaper route is also the better product for most traders. Speed is the only thing the premium buys.
Payout terms, profit split and trading style: what the price does not change
Whichever route and account size you buy, the payout terms are identical: USDT or USDC within 24 hours, no fees, a $100 minimum after the split, and a starting profit split of 80%. The price buys capital and a risk envelope, not better withdrawal terms.
That is worth knowing because it removes a variable from the decision. In forex and futures proprietary trading, a more expensive programme often comes with faster payouts or a better split; in crypto-funded trading here it does not. A trader’s style should drive the choice instead — a scalper taking many small positions inside a session can live with Zero-Step’s 3% daily limit and may value finishing in a day, while anyone holding through crypto’s overnight volatility needs Two-Step’s room and will reach their first withdrawal just as quickly on it.
Note too that nothing here is simulated differently by route: every route runs on the same live market data, and every account — challenge or funded — is a simulated account by the firm’s own description.
Is there a cheaper way into HyroTrader crypto trading?
Three things reduce what you actually spend, and none of them is a coupon:
- Choose Two-Step. Cheapest at every size, by $10 at $5,000 and by $370 at $100,000.
- Pass it. The deposit comes back with the first payout on One-Step and Two-Step.
- Try the free trial first. HyroTrader offers one, so you can see the platform before paying anything.
As for codes: HyroTrader publishes none on its own site, and the referral codes circulating elsewhere are documented as paying the affiliate, not the buyer. The homepage explains what those codes actually are, and the review weighs the whole package.
Frequently asked questions
How much is the cheapest HyroTrader challenge? $59, for a $5,000 Two-Step account.
What is the most expensive? $1,299, for a $200,000 One-Step account. Two-Step at the same size is $969.
Do I get the challenge fee back? On One-Step and Two-Step, yes — the deposit is returned with your first payout. On Zero-Step, no.
Is there a monthly subscription? No. HyroTrader charges once per challenge.
Why is Zero-Step more expensive than One-Step? It compresses the evaluation into a minimum of one trading day. You pay for speed and accept tighter drawdown, a lower account ceiling and a capped profit split in exchange.
Does the price change with the trading platform I choose? No. The price depends on route and account size only; Hyro, Bybit, BloFin, Tealstreet and Tiger.com are all available regardless.
Is the cost worth it? That depends on the company behind it as much as the number — the company record covers what could and could not be verified about the firm.
